Privacy Policy

Account information — your email address and the password you set (Supabase, our authentication provider, stores it hashed; we never see it in plain text). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identity token and, on first sign-in, the name that provider shares with us.

Profile information— your display name (shown on the leaderboard), your chosen AI coach style, your device's timezone (so your streak and daily drills line up with your local calendar day), and app-generated stats like your mechanics rating and streak count. If you redeem a promotional code, we also store which code you redeemed and when the access it granted expires.

Content you submit — basketball shooting clips (up to 60 seconds; the app compresses larger clips on your device before upload, and uploads are capped at 50MB), a short description of what to focus on and how you look on camera, optional shot/make/miss counts, and any AI Coach Chat messages sent from the app.

Attribution — during onboarding the app may ask how you heard about Waysport. Your answer helps us understand which channels are working.

Push notification token— if you allow notifications, your device gives us a push token, which we store so we can send you reminders and account notifications through Apple's Push Notification service. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Usage & device data— in the Waysport app, PostHog, our product-analytics provider, automatically collects screen views, app events, and standard technical data (device model, OS version, IP address). We also record upload performance, such as clip size, how long compression and upload took, and your connection type (for example Wi-Fi or cellular), so we can make uploads faster. This website doesn't run separate third-party analytics beyond standard server logs needed to operate it.

Subscription & payment data — Pro subscriptions are sold only through the iOS app. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment directly — we never see your card details. RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, tells us your entitlement status. This website does not process payments.

Photo library access— when you pick a clip, the app asks for photo library access so it can read that clip's length before copying it out of your library. We only use it to check the clip you select; if you deny or limit access, the check happens after the clip is copied instead.

Clip check frames— before a clip uploads, the app takes a few small still frames from it and sends them to our backend, which asks Google's Gemini API whether the clip shows a basketball shot. The frames are used only for that check and are not stored by us.

What we don't collect — your precise location, the rest of your photo library beyond the one clip you actively choose to upload, or your contacts.

Your clip is the most sensitive thing you share with us, so here's exactly what happens to it:

• Before it uploads, a few small still frames from it are sent to Gemini for a quick check that it shows a basketball shot. Clips that clearly don't are stopped here and never uploaded. The frames aren't stored.
• It uploads directly into a private storage bucket tied to your account.
• Our backend sends it to Google's Gemini API to generate your biomechanical analysis and archetype match.
• The instant analysis finishes — whether it succeeds, or the clip gets rejected (it isn't basketball, or shows a recognizable professional player, which we don't analyze) — we permanently delete it from both our storage and Google's servers.
• We do not keep a video archive, anywhere, for any user.

The written scouting report your clip produces — text, scores, archetype match — is saved to your account so you can revisit it, until you delete it or your account.

We use what we collect to run the core features you signed up for — analysis, coaching feedback, drill plans, leaderboard, streaks — to enforce the free-tier weekly analysis limit and your subscription entitlements, to personalize your coaching experience, to diagnose bugs and understand how the app is actually used, and to send you account-related messages like email confirmation codes.

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the providers that help us run Waysport:

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Waysport or our users.

We keep your account, profile, session results, chat history, and drill plans for as long as your account stays active. Video clips are deleted immediately after analysis (see Section 2) regardless of how long your account remains open. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, session history, usage records, and any remaining stored clips from our systems.

• Delete your account— in the app: Profile → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your profile, sessions, chat history, drill plans, usage records, and any remaining videos. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Waysport's Sign in with Apple access to your Apple ID. It can't be undone.
• Correct your info — update your display name, coach style, and other profile details in the app any time.
• Anything else — for a copy of your data, a specific deletion question, or any other privacy request, email waysportanalytics@gmail.com.

Waysport isn't intended for anyone under 13. We ask for your birthdate before you can create an account specifically to enforce this, and sign-up is blocked below that age. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 — if we learn we have, we'll delete it.

Traffic between our apps and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text, and our database enforces row-level access rules so your data is only ever readable by you and our servers — never by other users. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Our service providers — Supabase, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog, and Railway — process data on infrastructure primarily located in the United States. By using Waysport, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this policy as Waysport changes. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and make a reasonable effort to notify you if a change is material.
